Background
I was first introduced to massage when my mother had a mid-life career change and became a massage therapist when I was a child. Growing up around therapeutic bodywork, I always felt deeply rooted to the power of touch and the human capacity for healing. After graduating with a degree in psychology in 2016, I craved to explore the mind-body connection in a more tangible way and started receiving acupuncture and bodywork. After personally witnessing the true magic that can occur through touch and a holistic approach to the body, I embarked on the journey to become a massage therapist. Since becoming licensed It has been my dream to create a sanctuary where others can be supported in their self care. Currently, I practice out of a private room in my home but eventually my business will operate out of a separate studio on our property.
Education
After being divinely introduced to Chinese Medicine in 2017 my life radically changed. Shortly after, I began to take classes through Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts to expand my understanding of wellness. A few years later, I felt the call to focus my attention on bodywork and in 2020 I graduated from The Healing Arts and Massage School in Raleigh, NC. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University as well.
I am currently taking an 11 month course aimed at integrating Chinese Medicine into massage therapy. Studying Chinese Meridian Acupressure, Meridian Massage Therapy, Aroma Acutouch Therapy to Balance the Chinese Five Elements at Open Pathways Institute for Integrative Massage is a unique opportunity that allows me to support my clients through a Chinese Medicine approach to bodywork.
Approach
Integration of mind, body and spirit is at the heart my approach to bodywork. As more of our experience is welcomed into the body, it becomes more possible for us to live present, resilient lives and align our actions in the world. I work to support you with presence and attention to your direct, felt experience. For each client, I take an individualized approach.
My bodywork practice is rooted in curiosity and an ongoing study of the body and our aliveness. My practice is shaped by deep listening, Chinese medicine, Thai medicine, somatic practices, myofascial techniques, and energy healing. With a particular focus on approaching the body from a Chinese Medicine lense, I recognize that physical tension, pain or dis-ease is never separate from Chi stagnation, emotional imbalance or a lack in spiritual nourishment. I’m so honored to support folks as they deepen their relationship with themselves. This work is a gift and a delight. I look forward to working with you.
